Consuming Fire

Oh Holy Spirit, burning within, You are the Consuming Fire that is my God. Holy Fire, consume me! Burn away all that is hay and stubble in me! The void left in burnings wake, may You fill with Your Divine Love. Cleanse, purify, and seal this earthen clay vessel. Prepare me that God only be glorified in me! I who have been chosen as Your temple, make me worthy of the Holy One of Israel. Make me fit for the indwelling King!

King Jesus, live in me today!

I lift up holy hands to my Heavenly Father. Hands washed in the pure blood of Jesus and cleansed of all the evil deeds they have done. I offer up this heart once black with sin made clean by that very same blood. With clean lips, I praise, Jesus! I lift His Holy Name as I long for all men to be drawn to Him. Oh, Holy Spirit, draw them to Jesus for salvation!

Jesus the Lamb of God has become the Lion of Judah in me! Jesus, my King, Who has laid His claim on me, soon will lay claim upon the whole world! The Father's Will is done upon the earth and revealed to men at the full revelation of Jesus, the Son.

Rejoice!

Jesus is coming! No evil will stand before the force of Righteousness. Jesus, for the glory of His Father, will put all enemies under His feet. His victory is complete, not partial; and all that He redeems, He will lay, with His crown, at the Father's feet. He will sit in righteous judgement. He will judge for the widow and for the orphan. All will be made right in the world. All that is and ever has been unholy, tossed into the Fire reserved for that Day. All evil, sin, and death forever put down;consumed by the very same Fire that now burns within and purifies me. Death's destruction come in suffering the second death. Amen!

Oh, Holy Spirit! Oh, Consuming Fire! Burn on until all that seeks to stand against and in the place of God is but heaps of ashes. The temporal state forgotten when death rules no more and only Life remains!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Praise God!

This post reminds me a lot of reading the Bible. I realize that's a daring thing to say, and, I don't mean to connotate that JoyIndestructible is an authoritative writer ... but when a person kneels before a soverign ruler who remains hidden -how authoritative is that movement! There are many small imageries here that are very easy to pass over, but that single reader who studies the smallest nuances finds the fullest revelation.

My favorite part: "I who have been chosen as Your temple, make me worthy of the Holy One of Israel. Make me fit for the indwelling King!"

Hi BB,

You know we are commanded in scripture to speak as the oracles of God. We are also told that the Holy Spirit will give us the words we need to speak at just the right moment. I write what God impresses upon me to write. It is an act of worship for me. That doesn't make me anything special. I am just a sinner save by grace, a common wife, mother, and grandmother who is madly in love with Jesus. If you knew me apart from my writing, I am sure you have a very different opinion of me. I think the way I write and that's a mouthful! I am not allowed such full expression in real time and the spoken language. You might even come to think yourself blessed at having a computer screen between you and I to protect you from my intensity!lol!

I am sure you are quite different in 3d too. :0)

These words are not my entirely my own though I am mixed in them, as well. I don't know what will become of them and that is not my concern. They are bread that I caste upon the water. Though they may sound like the Bible it doesn't mean that they are scripture. That has already been decided. The Bible is special and will stand as it is, I believe, until the end of time. However, God has not ceased to speak and work through His people. Even now in this lukewarm time in Christian history it is still possible to search out and find preaching that is of the Holy Spirit and not contrived through human intelligence alone.

I have been hungry for the Word of God since my salvation. At the first, I was famished and could not get enough. That was thirty-two years ago and I'm still hungry. I have read those Words so much that they have become my words. At first, I could not understand Paul and now I think the same way as he. When I was first saved, I knew nothing about God and my thinking was upside down to Him. The Bible has reprogrammed me, so to speak, and given me a Godly perspective on life that has saved my life and given me life that is abundant and full. Not great health and no overly great wealth (though I have much more than I need and have no pain that is unendurable) but a cup that is overflowing with God's love for me. I pray and desire that all could know Jesus and have their own special relationship with God through Him. Not a relationship just like mine but a relationship just right for each. I think, "Christ in you, my hope for glory", is an incredible desire and a glory worth waiting until the end of time to receive.

I am very happy in the Lord today. I hope that you had a Jesusful day too and will enjoy a Jesusful week ahead!

I am certain God has blessed you in many ways that cannot be expressed here ... not without having found out for yourself. That's what I was thinking to myself while reading your previous comment.

I sometimes wonder to what end these writings will come. I often try to write as if it were to be published, but if I were a publisher I very much doubt I would consider anything here (to this extent I am glad not to be a publisher).

Something happened yesterday (or the day before), and I thought, "God has given me far more than any publisher ever could!" People want their books to be read by the masses, but there are certain things which far surpass that.

My kids want me to write a book but I don't think I could endure all that it takes to get something published. The masses only read books written by celebrities that write at an eigth grade level. I hate to say it but I think books are becoming a thing of the past, relics of an age that compiled knowledge very differently from this current age of electronics.

Anyway, devotional type writing is what I love best and this, to me, is the ideal way of publishing it. It is fresh everyday, bite size, and nourishing for the time we are in now. Also, to be honest, I am hooked on the instant feedback. I paint as well as write and both are about communication. It is the test of what I have created and the creative process is not complete without reaction from others.

My grandmother, who I am like in many ways, was a poet and short story writer. She supported her family in the depression with her short stories, mainly for Harper's Magazine. It was the hey day of the magazine and perfect for her talent. My talent is much like hers and blogs are the magazines of our day. Also, as far as faith goes, this is the marketplace of our day also and no better place to share faith and tell others about Jesus in my life.

Praise God! Lord Jesus ruler of all seen and unseen. I lift up all the viewers of this site to you God, and I thank you Lord for each one of them. I know without doubt Lord everything you have and will create holds a very special place in your heart. Oh, God restore us to place of unashamed worship for you oh God. Bring us back to the time when we first saw your Holy face and surrendered all our wants and desires to you. Let our own kingdoms fall; so, that we are emptied to be filled with new oil. And we, all the nations, will stand as one as a lampstand, a beacon on a mountaintop for you oh God. Our individual lights may shine and influence some, but oh God if we took all the individual lights and gathered on one mountaintop for one purpose, to draw all to Jesus, and show them Your love, I can only imagine the impact. Setting aside all the trifle differences of today's man made churches, and come together as the body of Christ, for Lord we as individuals are Your body. We are your church. Come now and revive our hearts to stand bold in the face of adversity and worship our risen saviour King of all Kings and Lord of all Lords. All the glory to you and you alone God. Thank you God and this is done in Jesus' name Amen.
