Momento Mori

Trying my hand at comics ...

I'm hoping to do more soon, although one never knows what interruptions he or she may find.

Update:

Here's my second one.

Here's the third one.

Good job but I don't know that it is comic. It isn't "reality but actuality". The way it is and the reality we want to deny the most.

I like coming here because your site is like a deep breath of wholesome normalacy. Something I miss in this strange time that we live in, the actuality of which, we also try to ignore.

True, the comic element is perhaps overshadowed by the seriousness of the final square. My intent was to portray that place where the infinitely pathetic is also the infinitely comic.

Thanks again for the encouraging words, Pam. I think I understand your dicotomy between reality and actuality.

PS: I've been missing your posts at gracehead!

Hey Burning Bush,

I really like it. The last panel is funny as well as thought-provoking. Death is a scary topic, and one I only feel comfortable with when i'm not thinking about it! I'd try my hand at comics if only I knew how to draw. Again, well done, I hope this is the start of an online comic website ;)

By the way, thanks for alerting me to it on my blog. It isn't faux pas, well to me anyway. I haven't been paying much attention to my own blog or other people's blogs much lately, I see from a glance on your front page that I have much reading to catch up on!

Thanks for the articulate response, Tim. I wouldn't say you've missed a lot, but I thought your existential eyes would have something to see in this one.

Hi Pam,

The decision to leave must have been very difficult. You and I have been painfully aware of the difficulties one faces in the blogging world.

Yes, it was and is. Whoever would've guessed it would be so hard. There is the street-preaching aspect that gets you stoned every other day or so. Also, keeping one's focus on Jesus as in all areas of life is always in jeopardy.

Trent and I have a long history and I just have to take comfort in the fact that we are bound by the blood of Jesus and someday, all misunderstandings will have passed. Pray for him and Timothy. I'm also not above needing a prayer or two.
